This is a great idea and all, but when a meteor happens to hit the earth's crust, what are you going to do? there will be dust everywhere blocking the suns rays. You will have to do something that can raise it above the dust levels. you could do this, or you could build yourself a spinning device that spins using 12 powerful magnets perfectly aligned, and when you bring another magnet to a certain place next to it, it begins to spin, make that magnetic disk spin a heavy non magnetic bar, and have it spin several electrical generators, essentially making yourself energy from magnetic fields. This technology dates all the way back to Nikola Tesla, and possibly even before. why no one uses it is beyond me, but i bet someone's been using it somewhere covertly.
